Coming August 20, 2019. The Roman goddess of the dawn, Aurora, would be so honored to have this first-of-its-kind event named after her. It’s the inaugural Aurora Games, a festival involving the top international women athletes competing in basketball, tennis, figure skating, gymnastics, ice hockey, and beach volleyball. Scheduled to occur every 2 years, this six-day event will include team and individual competitions at the Times Union Center in Albany, New York. There will also be musical performances, food tastings, sports clinics, autograph sessions and seminars. An impressive collection of women were involved in the planning of this event, including nine-time Olympic medalist Nadia Comaneci; 18-time Grand Slam champion Chris Evert; six-time Olympic medalist Jackie Joyner-Kersee; two-time Olympic medalist Nancy Kerrigan; and seven-time Olympic medalist Shannon Miller. Come celebrate the globe’s top women athletes at the Aurora Games!
