Coming September 24, 2022. It’s a free day! The fourth Saturday in September is National Public Lands Day, the nation’s largest, single-day volunteer event to help restore and improve public lands around the country. To honor this day, national parks, historical sites, wildlife refuges, and other federal public lands are waiving their entrance fees, making it the perfect opportunity to get outdoors and make a difference. The theme this year is Giving Back Together. The National Environmental Education Foundation leads and coordinates the many in-person and virtual events, so check out their website at the link above to find something near you to help give back together on this year’s National Public Lands Day.
