AJC Peachtree Road Race

Coming July 4, 2019. The world’s largest 10K. It’s the AJC Peachtree Road Race, and this year, marks its 50th anniversary with surprise money awards for a few lucky runners, as well as up to $200,000 in bonus prize money to athletes who break an event record. The more than 60,000 runners take to the streets of downtown Atlanta to music from the ‘70s, ‘80s, ‘90s and ‘00s at each mile along the course. There are some downhill sections and some uphill sections, as well as a hill nicknamed Cardiac Hill (hmm, take that as a challenge!), but expect hydration stations every mile in addition to 5 water spray stations for welcome cooling, if it heats up. This is a popular race and registration is based on a lottery system so mark your calendars for mid-March of next year to participate in the 2020 event.
