Coming May 4, 2019. Cinco de Mayo commemorates an underdog victory over France in the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862. Here’s another less serious battle with the Cinco de Mayo Trail Run, a grueling, timed 5K and 10K race held at the Lake Poway Trail, just north of sunny San Diego, California. They say that the 5K is designed to let you pick your pace, as a run or even as a hike. While the 10K has approximately 1,150 feet of elevation gain in the 6.2 miles, with two pretty steep climbs, PLUS another killer uphill to get to the finish line. Yikes! It’s all in good fun though as the race helps to raise money for a local, low-income elementary school. Music, food, and drinks await at the post-race fiesta. Challenge yourself at the Cinco de Mayo Trail Run!
