Coming July 14, 2013. Head to the Wapta Icefields in beautiful Banff National Park for the Women’s Intro to Mountaineering by Yamnuska. No prior mountaineering experience is required, but this will be a challenging week, traveling several kilometers of glacier each day with peaks ranging in height from 2900 meters to 3200 meters. To name a few of the many skills you’ll learn: use of an ice axe, walking with crampons, whiteout procedures, and crevasse rescue. Price includes instruction, hut accommodation, Park Permits, out-trip meals, local transfer to trailhead and use of technical gear.
