Third Annual Kenai Silver Salmon Derby

Coming September 13, 2019. Angling at the World’s Most Responsible Fishing Tournament! It’s the Third Annual Kenai Silver Salmon Derby held along Alaska’s salmon-rich Kenai River. This 2 round tournament isn’t your typical biggest-fish-wins competition. Prizes are awarded based on which fish most closely meets the Magic Weight for that given day. The Magic Weight is randomly generated at the end of each day, so anglers of all skill levels have a chance to win. The added benefit is that it helps prevent selective fishing practices that can lead to the catch-and-release injuries which compromise the health of the silver salmon population.
