ÖTILLÖ Catalina

Coming February 29, 2020. The sport of swimrun has made it to the United States! Not familiar with swimrun races? First started in Sweden, ÖtillÖ (island to island in Swedish) involves at least 2 circuits composed of swimming then running. Considered to be one of the toughest endurances races, this outdoor, multistage competition can be done in teams or individually. Next year marks the debut of ÖTILLÖ Catalina, a picturesque island off the coast of Los Angeles. The worthy setting is a rugged island reached only by ferry with buffalo roaming free and a 650 meter vertical drop from the highest point to the sea. Choose from 3 distances: the Experience Race course is 7.8 km long with 3 swims, of which the longest is 800 meters; the Sprint Race course is 15 km with 4 swims, of which longest swim is 1,400 meters; and the World Series course is 37.7 km with 7 swims, of which the longest is 1,600 meters and the running portion includes more than 1,315 meters of vertical climb. Note that you have the option to participate in either the Sprint or the Experience distance as an individual. Get in on the challenge at the inaugural ÖTILLÖ Catalina!
