Kentucky Derby Festival Minimarathon and Marathon

Coming April 27, 2019. And they’re off! It’s the Kentucky Derby Festival Minimarathon and Marathon, kicking off “The Run for the Roses”, the iconic horse race that is first leg of the American Triple Crown of Thoroughbred Racing. This popular running race follows an out-and-back route that starts and finishes along Main Street in downtown Louisville, showcasing the city’s historic and tourist-friendly places, with a special highlight – the infield of Churchill Downs, the hallowed home of the Kentucky Derby itself. The course is mostly flat with the exception of some moderate hills, but strong crowd support throughout the route is encouraging.
