World Reef Day

Coming June 1, 2019. Get the word out and help save the reefs! This year marks the inaugural World Reef Day, a call to action to raise awareness for the delicate ecosystem of our ocean’s coral reefs and to help prevent further reef loss. Founded by our friends at Raw Elements and supported by Hawaiian Airlines and Aqua-Aston Hospitality, among others, the facts are staggering. Our coral reefs are disappearing twice as fast as the rainforest with significant losses due to coral bleaching: 40% in Hawaii, 40% in the Great Barrier Reef, 85% in the Caribbean, and 99% in the Florida Keys. There are three simple things you can do to protect these precious resources: Use reef-safe sunscreen; Reduce single-use plastics; and Spread the message.
