L’Eroica Cycling Race

Coming October 1, 2017. Cycling nostalgia at its best with L’Eroica Cycling Race. L’Eroica, meaning ‘The Heroic’ and is a race through Chianti, Italy using vintage bikes (i.e., bikes made in 1987 or earlier), wearing vintage gear. Through Tuscan villages and vineyards, this very scenic ride covers distances of 46, 75, 115, 135, or 209 km (lit by candles, no less!). Portions of the race will be traveled along the distinctive strade bianche, the white gravel roads of the region, and all but the leisurely 46 km distance will include rest stops with bread and jam, cakes, soup, meats, cheeses, and of course, wine (no modern sports drinks here!). Revisit the history, beauty and heroic accomplishment of Italian cycling with the L’Eroica Cycling Race!
