Gore-Tex Grand Traverse

Coming March 25, 2016. An epic, high alpine journey! The Gore-Tex Grand Traverse is a grueling 40 miles with an elevation gain of 7,800 feet and a typical finishing time of 8 to 16 hours. What could be more dramatic than starting off at the stroke of midnight into the cold, dark route from Crested Butte to Aspen? Add to that highly variable temperatures ranging from daytime highs of 40°F to nighttime lows of -20°F and the potential for avalanches, and you understand why there is a requirement to travel in teams of two and carry sufficient backcountry supplies since this is a self-supported race.
