International Women’s Day

You can make a difference! Today is International Women’s Day, and the theme this year is “Pledge for Parity”. The focus is to take steps to “help women and girls achieve their ambitions, call for gender-balanced leadership, respect and value difference, develop more inclusive and flexible cultures or root out workplace bias”. International Women’s Day, started in the 1900s, is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. Around the world, events include celebrating women in technology (London), showcasing local female artists (Gibraltar), celebrating female athletes (Sydney), breaking barriers in science (Washington DC), and a panel discussion on “The Push for Parity” (New York). Celebrate women and brainstorm on ways to help achieve gender parity.
