Coming April 10, 2016. Sun, sand, and malasadas! The Hapalua (half in Hawaiian) is known as Hawaii’s Half Marathon and takes place in the state’s capital of Honolulu. A scenic course starts you off at the famous Duke Kahanamoku statue, the iconic Waikiki statue of “The father of modern surfing”, then takes you through the streets of downtown Honolulu past the Ionali Palace, through Chinatown, around Diamond Head, and finishes at Kapiolani Park. The post-race celebrations include music, awards, plenty of hydration, and well-deserved malasadas (Portuguese donut-like yummies!) and shave ice. Anything Hawaiian gets our vote!
