Petra Desert Marathon

Coming September 3, 2016. A marathon in the desert?! Yes, for you die-hard TrailblazerGirl runners, there’s the Petra Desert Marathon. Considered an adventure marathon, this challenging race takes place in the lunar-like mountain landscape and arid desert of Jordan. On top of the dry, desert heat, expect hills galore with an ascent of about 1,200 m and a descent of 1,100m. Much of the route is a mixture of gravel and paved roads with the desert sections being sand and loose rocks. A unique, formidable marathon starting in the ancient city of Petra.
