Coming January 17, February 14, and March 7, 2015. Celebrate winter with Eastern Mountain Sports Schools’ Women’s Ice Climbing 101. Held in New Paltz, just 80 miles north of New York City, you’ll find some of the best climbing cliffs in the Shawangunk Ridge (aka “The Gunks”). Dress warmly and they’ll provide all the gear for the day. This one day course provides an introduction that focuses on “proper footwork, tool placement, moving efficiently, staying warm, and having fun in a women’s friendly atmosphere”.
