Coming March 20, 2015. Known as the “Toughest, Coldest and Windiest Extreme Ultra Marathon on the Planet”. The Likeys 6633 Ultra is a grueling race of either 120 miles or 350 miles within the Arctic Circle (6633 refers to the latitude coordinates in minutes and degrees of the Arctic Circle) in temperatures of -25 degrees. To give you a sense of how tough this race is, only 11 people have completed the 350 mile distance since its beginning 7 years ago. You are required to carry all your gear and provisions for the race including food, cooking gear, clothing, sleeping kit, and there are minimal checkpoints at between 23 and 70 miles apart with generally only hot water and shelter guaranteed. The 120 mile distance must be completed within 71 hours (3 days!), and the 350 mile distance must be completed within 191 hours (8 days!). A hyper-ultra extreme winter race definitely worthy of bragging rights!
