Coming July 20, 2013. The Western States Trail Foundation’s Tevis Cup is the oldest modern day equestrian endurance ride consisting of a 100-mile course to be completed within a 24-hour limit. The ride starts in Placer County, California and passes along narrow mountain trails through remote and rugged wilderness territory with approximately 19,000 feet of climbs and close to 22,000 feet of descents. It is definitely a challenge as is evidenced by the completion rate of around 50%.
