Coming August 6, 2022. Reach the peak! Tomorrow is National Summit Day, a celebration of summits and those who climb them. Started in 2017 by Backpacker Magazine, the first Saturday in August is a day to get those hiking boots on and head outdoors to explore. We don’t see anything about specific events on their website, but the great thing about hiking is that you can find a hike anywhere, whether it’s hitting the trails of a National Park, climbing sand dunes along the coast, or trekking around your local neighborhood, the important thing is to breath the fresh air, relish the scenery, and leave no trace behind.
