Coming June 3, 2017. Small town charm at its best! It’s the annual Maritime Gig Festival and Blessing of the Fleet in Washington’s Gig Harbor, named one of Smithsonian Magazines Top Five Small Towns. This two-day event features a festive parade, classic car show, local food, live entertainment, and a family fun run. Stroll along the picturesque waterfront past historic netsheds, remnants of the city’s fishing heritage where local fishermen used to store their nets and fishing gear. Or rent a kayak or SUP and venture out in the calm harbor, enjoying views of Mount Rainier in the distance. Fingers crossed that the weather cooperates with a beautiful, sunny weekend for this popular outdoor event!
