Coming August 26, 2012. Colorado’s only all-women’s road ride. The fifth annual Venus de Miles Road Ride in Boulder is really a celebration of women out and about enjoying a great day of cycling, festivities and just hanging out. First, it’s important to understand that it’s not a race. It’s just a ride so no need to feel competitive. The goal is purely to have fun, get some exercise and support a great charity. You can choose any of four rides: “the rolling 100-mile ride, the calf-cramping 67-mile ride, the heart-pounding 51-mile ride or the 33-mile jaunt through the scenic countryside.” All levels of experience are welcome, and if the ride gets to be just a little too tough on this or that hill, just join the crowd and feel free to walk for a bit. Ah, if only life was that easy all the time.
