Coming October 3, 2015. Die hard endurance mountain bike racers will be stoked this fall when the World Solo 24 Hour Mountain Bike Championships comes to Northern California for the first time. Held previously in Italy, Australia, and Scotland, the historic gold rush town of Weaverville, will be this year’s host. As the title indicates, it will be an individual race (no teams this year) with riders racing around the clock to complete as many laps of the course as possible in 24 hours. Yikes! Definitely something to train for. Expect majestic forests, wooden bridges crossing over bubbling creeks, and sweeping views of the surrounding Trinity Alps Wilderness. A challenging, scenic, endurance race.
