On the South bank of the River Boyne, just north of Donore Village… oops, that’s not it… it’s Somerville, Massachusetts. The redundantly named but spirited and unique Ras na hEireann Irish Race is coming up for its annual turn on Sunday, March 18 (2012) to kick-off another glorious Spring not to mention tomorrow, St. Patrick’s Day. The 5K course takes you around the township which has a curiously familiar feel to its namesake, and don’t be fooled. It is competitive. The Women’s course record was set in 2010 with a time of 15:59.
