7 Hills of Kirkland

Coming May 29, 2023.Cycling to End Homelessness. It’s the 7 Hills of Kirkland, a Memorial Day road bike ride that has been going strong for over 20 years. Raising funds to provide services and housing to less fortunate residents in Kirkland, Washington, just north of Seattle, the event is sponsored by the Kirkland Kiwanis club. As the name clearly outlines, the Traditional 38-mile route consists of 7 hills with four of the hills reported as being challenging and three as not so difficult. Many rank the sixth hill, Winery Hill, as the most difficult since it’s the steepest, however the second hill, Seminary Hill, is also a challenge as it requires about 2 miles of climbing. For those that want a more leisurely ride, there’s a 20 mile route with no steep hills and for those die hard cyclists, there’s a Metric Century which adds another 20 miles to the Traditional route and includes 5 extra hills. All participates receive a t-shirt and strawberry shortcake at the finish. This Memorial Day weekend, the 7 Hills of Kirkland is great way to kick off the cycling season and support a great cause.
