Cumberland Island with Roam

The Cumberland Island National Park is Georgia’s largest barrier island, and the folks at Roam have picked this beautiful location to offer a week-long adventure to women looking to explore the fun of backpacking. Perfect for beginners, you’ll learn fundamental backpacking skills including understanding your gear, how to choose an appropriate campsite, Leave No Trace Principles, hygiene in the woods, backpacking etiquette, safety issues and first aid. And for this adventure, you’ll be covering just 6 – 9 miles a day, so you don’t need to be a pro. This really is a great opportunity just to experiment, see wildlife in pristine surroundings and learn what backpacking is all about with a great group of ladies.
