Something fishy’s going on in our snack cupboard! And that’s a good thing, because it’s the Wild Alaskan Salmon Jerky from our friends at Fishpeople. Yes, here in the Pacific Northwest, we like jerky made out of salmon instead of beef. Not just any salmon though, this is sustainably-caught, wild salmon from Alaska, and you can find exactly where with their cool Trace Your Fish code. For example, our favorite, the Sweet + Smoky Original, was caught in the Cook Inlet, just next to the Kenai peninsula in Southcentral Alaska. A one-ounce, resealable package is considered 2 servings, each with 90 calories, 12 grams of protein, and a whopping 300 mg of heart-healthy omega 3 fatty acids. The small strips of salmon are very tasty, slightly chewy, slightly moist, and utterly delicious directly out of the bag, mixed in a salad, or even as a sandwich with a smear of cream cheese. Choose from 4 flavors: Sweet + Smoky Original, Rainbow Peppercorn, Lemon Zest + Herb, and Ancho Chili + Lime. For a new kind of snack that is swimmingly different, check out Wild Alaskan Salmon Jerky from Fishpeople!
