Downtown to Defiance

August 23, 2018

Currently available: Free  Visit their site to learn more

Coming September 9, 2018. No cars allowed! Downtown to Defiance is a free event designed to encourage everyone to get outdoors and enjoy the Tacoma waterfront. Situated along the saltwater banks of Puget Sound, Tacoma is 32 miles southwest of Seattle and is known for its world-renowned glass art. The waterfront will be closed to traffic, so all human-powered transport will be welcome – walking, running, skating, cycling, rolling, skateboarding, and scootering. That’s 7 miles of car-free roads, starting at the Museum of Glass and traveling all the way to Point Ruston, on the edge of Point Defiance Park with the beautiful views of Puget Sound, Mount Rainier, Vashon Island, and more. Family-friendly activities like an obstacle course, croquet, and skateboarding classes, will be available along the way as well. Enjoy the outdoors at Downtown to Defiance!
