SCARPA Spin Ultra

Yes, the newly released Spin Ultra from our friends at SCARPA has already racked up an Editor’s Choice award from Trail Runner Magazine as well as an Outside Magazine Gear of the Year award. SCARPA, Italian for shoe, is headquartered in northern Italy in the foothills of the Dolomite Mountains, so it’s no wonder they created a trail running shoe worthy of this region. There’s no slipping or sliding with these kicks, thanks to the Vibram Litebase/Megagrip rubber sole. Megagrip is a very good description since the lugs provide outstanding traction, making them ideal for technical terrain – mud, rocks, uneven terrain, hills, you name it. Don’t worry though, despite this solid sole, it’s very lightweight at only 7.8 oz for a women’s size 7.5. Armed with Ortholite insoles, you also have excellent cushioning and a moisture wicking surface that inhibits odor and fungus growth. The upper is designed out of a mesh with a welded PU film and is breathable and flexible, yet supportive.
