Seasons Greetings! And Vancouver, British Columbia goes about it in a big way! As one our favorite cities to visit, the holiday time is extra special with outdoor ice rinks, beautifully decorated trees and wreaths. and lights, lights, and more lights. Our Canadian friends in the North are not deterred by the cold weather and there are many outdoor events that bring on the holidays and showcase the natural beauty of this area. We already shared the amazing, magical light maze of Enchant and the German-inspired, traditional Vancouver Christmas Market, so bundle up and head out to see some other activities that we’d like to highlight: VanDusen Garden’s Festival of Lights (gloriously pictured above!), Bright Lights at Stanley Park, Canyon Lights at Capilano Suspension Bridge, Heritage Christmas at the Burnaby Village Museum, and Grouse Mountain’s Peak of Christmas. For a respite from the chilly outdoors, head inside to see FlyOver Canada’s Christmas-themed “flight”, viewing the beauty of Canada while helping Santa find his wayward elves; or visit the Vancouver Aquarium and see Scuba Claus, the ultra-cute baby sea otters, and Helen and Chester’s antics in the dolphin pool; or as a break from all the holiday hoopla, get a bit of local history at the Museum of Vancouver and the Vancouver Maritime Museum. So many festive, interesting, and special activities to do in Vancouver that we can’t wait to return!
