Yippee – it’s time to strap on your skis or board and hit the slopes! Yes, it’s not even Thanksgiving and Arapahoe Basin in Colorado is already open and has been open since October 21st! With an average snowfall of 350 inches annually, A-Basin, aka the Legend, enjoys an extended season by often being the first to open and the last to close and is located at the base of the Continental Divide on Loveland Pass with a summit elevation of 13,050 feet. Known for their steeps, intermediate and advanced skiers and riders will appreciate the 960 acres, 109 trails, and 8 lifts, including a high-speed quad chairlift. Check their website to see which runs are open, but at this time there is no beginner skiing offered (newbies need to wait just a little longer to access the easier terrain).
