Amazing Maasai Ultra Marathon

Coming September 29, 2012. From Kenya, the land that’s given so many incredible long-distance runners, comes the Amazing Maasai Ultra Marathon. The run consists of either a 1-day 75km (46.6 mile) ultra marathon or a 42km (26 mile) marathon or a 21km (13 mile) half marathon race. The course, whichever you choose, will take you through long hills, flat bush lands and the rolling countryside where the Maasai live. You decide which course best works for you, but keep in mind the higher altitude. And best of all, the entire event raises scholarships to pay for Maasai girls to go to elementary and high school. Although the race is just one day, you’ll probably want to consider extending the trip for an entire week and check out a package that includes all of your accommodations, meals and a safari too.
