America’s newest National Park. Earlier this year, Pinnancles National Monument was awarded National Park status. Located about 120 miles south of San Francisco, this aptly named park has breathtaking spires and rock formations and at springtime is graced with a stunning landscape of California poppies, bush lupine, mariposa lilies and a variety of other wildflowers. Covering almost 27,000 acres with over 30 miles of trails and 83 tent sites, hiking, rock climbing, caves and sightings of the highly endangered California Condor make this a popular venue for outdoor enthusiasts.
