Bottom line? Here is a lightweight, breathable, water-proof hiking boot. Columbia, with this Talus Ridge, has built a boot almost like a high-top running shoe, but it has all of those great attributes of a hiking boot. The folks at Columbia are most proud of this OutDry sole that keeps the boot waterproof, but it was the lightweight that won us over when we tried it. You can even run in this thing which is such an improvement over the clunky boots we often find ourselves lugging up the hill.
