Yet another winner from our friends at Mystery Ranch! This time, it’s the District 8, an “in-between bag”, when you don’t need a big backpack but need more than a small hip pack. The District series is the company’s first fully recycled pack series, designed with Cordura re/cor, a very durable fabric made from reclaimed waste resources. Plus, all of the webbings (e.g., the handy little fabric tabs on the zipper pulls that make it easy to use the zippers with gloved or cold hands and the thin strips on the bag that are useful for attaching carabiners or hanging your sunglasses from) are made out of a pre-consumer recycled nylon. With a volume capacity of 8 liters, this is a great travel or urban daypack with loads of useful features. Starting on the outside, there’s a very well-padded, ambidextrous shoulder strap which allows for all-day comfortable carrying with a quick-release buckle for one-handed removal of the bag and easily adjustable length thanks to the thumb-lock buckle system. Two outside accordion pockets are ideal for storing items that you want quick access to like your phone, lip balm, tissues, and keys which can be attached to the integrated key clip. An outside body panel pocket is padded and big enough for a tablet or for holding maps or papers. The roomy divided interior is complete with organizational pockets – 2 zippered and 2 non-zippered – and more than adequate space to hold a water bottle, wallet, snacks, sunscreen, and other extras. The Mystery Ranch District 8 is our new favorite “in-between” bag for hikes, travel, and more!
