A picturesque walking path that the Coastguard used to patrol for smugglers. The South West Coast Path National Trail is England’s longest long-distance footpath and covers 630 miles. You can hike sections of the path or the entire route from Somerset’s Minehead on the edge of Exmoor around to the shores of Poole Harbour in Dorset. See the dramatic coastline, quaint villages, bucolic countryside, and even Bronze Age burial mounds that probably date from 1200BC and 2500BC. Photo: Thrift at Sunset, Godrevy.
