How cool is this! Yes, pun intended, the Igloo-Village is a collection of igloos connected by underground tunnels in 6 locations throughout the Alps and the Pyrenees. Each year the Igloo Villages are completely rebuilt using inflatable balloons to create the “rooms” that are then covered with snow and connect by “underground” corridors. The whole process takes about 2700 hours to complete. Some of the locations even have saunas and jacuzzis. Bundle up because the inside temperature of the Igloo Village runs 0 – 5°C. Overnight stays can be booked from December 25 through usually mid-April. Definitely a unique winter TrailblazerGirl experience!
