Coming May-September, 2012. Lots of folks are familiar with National Parks and Seashores, but did you know the US has National Lakeshores? The Apostle Islands National Lakeshore on Lake Superior lies in northwestern Wisconsin and hosts some great kayaking amongst rocky outcrops with sea caves as well as beaches, historic lighthouses and underwater shipwrecks. The folks at Wilderness Inquiry have set-up a series of 4-day trips to camp and explore this inland “sea,” actually the largest freshwater lake in the world. There are some women-only trips scheduled for May and July, so check those out.
