San Juan Islands National Monument

One of the newest National Monuments (March 25, 2013), the San Juan Islands are an active TrailblazerGirl’s dream. The San Juan Islands in Washington State’s Puget Sound are made up of an archipelago of over 450 islands, rocks, and pinnacles and can be reached by either taking a ferry or a sea plane. Once there, you can kayak, cycle, hike, whale watch, fish, zip line, or just relax on the beach.
