Got an extra 5 months? That’s how long it would take to thru hike the approximately 2,650 miles of the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) from end-to-end. The PTC along with the Appalachian Trail and the Continental Divide Trail form what is commonly known as the Triple Crown of Hiking in the US. With a wide range of elevations from just above sea level to 13,153 feet, the route passes through 25 national forests and 7 national parks in it’s path from the US-Mexico border to the US-Canada border. Careful planning is necessary as the trail is snow-covered and can be treacherous for much of the year.
