Opening May 5, 2012. A bit of trivia…which is the first country to provide a formal trail encompassing its entire coastline… the answer is Wales and the Wales Coast Path is opening for the first time this week. The 870 mile (1400 km) trail will run from Chester in the north to Chepstow in the south, passing through most of the country’s major sites including Swansea. Hey, there’s a reason the heir to the English throne is called the Prince of Wales, and this new trail lives up to that reputation.
