Coming November 24, 2016. Awarded one of the best small towns in America, Gig Harbor hosts a popular Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving morning. Before you settle down to partake of your turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, and pumpkin pie, work off some of those anticipated calories with a 5K or 10K race. The course takes you along the quaint streets that border the water past historic net sheds and hanging baskets of flowers and Christmas wreaths. If it’s a clear day, you’ll see a picture perfect view of snow-topped Mount Rainer in the distance. A fantastic way to start your Turkey Day!
