Coming June 26, 2016. See you in the Hudson! The 8 Bridges Hudson River Swim is the longest marathon swim in the world. Starting at the Rip Van Winkle Bridge and ending at the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge – the entrance to the New York Harbor, this week-long, open water swim covers 7 stages, each ranging in distance from 13.2 miles to 19.8 miles. Of the 59 registered swimmers, ranging in age from 17 to 64, only 7 will brave all 7 stages. This epic open-water swim will be a challenge and an interesting event to follow.
