Coming July 1, 2016. Full face helmet, knees pads and gloves required – yikes! For the hard-core skateboarders, the Whistler Longboard Festival is THE place to be. As one of only 2 North American World Cups, this multi-day downhill skateboard event, provides a challenging and picturesque venue for this competition. Canada Day (July 1st) kicks off the Freeride event with the World Cup Timed Qualify and Race on Saturday and Sunday. Count on seven 180 degree hairpins with 12 corners and a total 1000 foot vertical drop on this 1.6 km road race. Stick around for music, food, partying, and celebrations throughout Whistler’s cobblestoned village paradise.
