Women’s Backpacking in the Sierra Alps: Yosemite National Park and Hoover Wilderness, California

Coming August 6, 2016. Join Sierra Club Outings for their Women’s Backpacking in the Sierra Alps: Yosemite National Park and Hoover Wilderness, California. Starting in the Hoover Wilderness, named in honor of our 31st president and known for its extreme mountain terrain, you’ll then head over to the less traveled northern portion of Yosemite National Park. Highlights include remote lakes, calm meadows, awe-inspiring vistas, glaciated valleys, and canyons. This 9-day trip involves 50 miles of ascents and descents over three passes and a total elevation gain and loss of nearly 8,300 feet, so it’s geared towards intermediate and experienced backpackers.
