Ever wanted to experience walking on the moon? Well, you can simulate this by trying out the AlterG Anti-Gravity Treadmill. This high tech contraption looks similar to a regular treadmill, but it is designed with NASA-patented Differential Air Pressure unweighting technology. Sound complicated? Here’s the skinny…once you put on a pair of special shorts and zip yourself into the cockpit of the AlterG (think large airbag surrounding the treadmill), it fills with air pressure and reduces gravity’s impact by selecting any weight between 20% and 100% of your body weight (translation – for example, select 80%, and you feel like you weight 80% of your actual weight!). Then you can start running but with much less pressure and stress on your joints and muscles. Ideal for recovery from an injury or reducing the chances of injury during a workout.
