You’ve heard of hybrid cars, but how about hybrid skis? The Marquette Backcountry Ski is part snowshoe and part ski. It’s a short, wide ski with what they call “macro fish-scales” treads to grab the snow while heading uphill but minimally effect gliding when going downhill. Choose just about any kind of binding which can be easily mounted to the threaded inserts. Another way to enjoy the snow!
