At less than one pound, this “Home Safety” device by Eton is the sort of thing every one should have in their car for their next camping trip. It includes an AM/FM radio including the NOAA weatherband and a flashing “beacon” red LED light. Most importantly, it can be powered via any of three  sources: 1) a crank, 2) three AAA batteries, or 3) a power cord. If it has power, you can also recharge your cell phone via a special USB port. There are too many stories of people being caught in bad weather without good information, and this along with a first aid kit are the sorts of things that are good to have on hand.
